Changes in fingerprinting for MD/DO licensure
As of April 20, 2012 initial applicants for the physician license credential with the Department of Safety and Professional Services will not need to submit fingerprints as a condition of licensure.
Veterinary Technicians
Wisconsin will continue to accept on the job training as specified in 453.06(3), Wisconsin Statutes, to qualify for the Veterinary Technician National Exam beyond the July, 2010 examination period and into the foreseeable future.

Chiropractic Live Patient Exam Delayed
The requirement for new Chiropractic license applicants to take and pass a "live-patient" practical exam has been delayed under a measure added by the Wisconsin Legislature to Governor Walker's 2011-2013 budget. Click for more details.
State Exam Fee Increase
Effective May 8, 2010, all state examination fees will increase from the current fee of $57 to $75.

Barbering and Cosmetology Exams
During the transition between exam vendors, there will be an interruption in the availability of exams. Every effort will be made to ensure individuals may begin or continue to work in their profession.
Changes in Barbering and Cosmetology CE Rule
The administrative rule which created a continuing education (CE) requirement for licensees in the barbering and cosmetology professions is being changed. There will be no CE requirement to renew your license in 2013. Click here for more on the changes.
CE Requirements for Professional Engineers
The Engineers Section has adopted a new rule requiring all professional engineers to complete Continuing Education courses each biennium in order to maintain licensure. The rule went into effect on January 1, 2012.
